Hope Floats...15 years later

I don't always remember movie lines but I always remember how certain movies have made me feel. It was the summer between my sophomore and junior year in college when I saw Hope Floats in the movie theater. I remember crying at least three times. So, when it came on the Hallmark Channel tonight, I had to watch it. Ten minutes in and I was tearing up. I don't know exactly why the tears where coming so soon, but I do know that parts of this movie remind me of my life. One of my favorite quotes: "That smile means there is still hope" :)

25 grad classes in 6 months

I needed to get 25 graduate credits by June 30, 2013 and I found out right after Thanksgiving 2012!!!

WHAT, WHAT!?!

But I did it! I took 9 grad classes where I had to read a book, write chapter reviews, write a lesson/unit plan, review an article on the subject and write a final paper. All of this writing ended up to be about 25 pages. That means I wrote 225 pages on subjects about education! I was so happy and relived when I was finished, but now I have decided that I need to do two more before January. So, no more reading for pleasure. My mind will be thinking about how I can use the stuff I am learning in my classroom.

These are the nine books that were my grad classes.

I don't want to forget this...

Last night while I was at the NASCAR race, I turned and looked at my oldest. I saw this. It reminded me how fast my boys are growing up. Nine years ago, I was sitting in these stands, thinking of the day when I would get to share this experience with my first son. Time flies way too fast!
